2 or 3 packages frozen French-style green beans
1 medium onion
3 tablespoons  butter
1 teaspoon salt
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can French-fried onion rings

Melt butter in saucepan, add finely chopped onion and cook until golden.  Add green beans.  Pour in to  cup water and salt  Cover and cook over low heat for fifteen minutes (or until beans are just barely defrosted).
Stir in undiluted soup.  Toss.  Put in a flat casserole dish. (Pyrex is fine.)
Top with onion rings just before cooking.  
Put in 350 F oven, just long enough to bring casserole to a bubbly state and crisp the onion rings.
